How to check Android app updates and avoid outdated information
App updates · UncategorizedApp information changes over time. Versions, device requirements and support links may all change between releases. A directory is most useful when its information is compared with the publisher’s current records.
Separate listing dates from release dates
The date an article or listing was published is not necessarily the date an APK was released. Look for a publisher release date and version number. A headline saying “latest” is not evidence on its own.
Read the changelog
Update notes may explain fixes, changes to permissions or compatibility requirements. If they are not supplied, ask the publisher rather than assuming that a newer file is suitable for your phone.
Use a consistent update source
Follow the publisher’s supported update process. Files from different sources may have incompatible signatures or different package identifiers. Understand possible data loss before uninstalling an existing app.
Report corrections
If you find an outdated description, send the app name, the affected field and a public publisher source through the directory’s contact details. Do not send account passwords, payment PINs or private identity documents. We can correct our listings but cannot manage third-party accounts.
